JACKSON, MI — A man cutting up a fallen tree near Jerome died Monday when part of the tree trunk fell on him, according to Michigan State Police at the Jackson Post.
The unidentified 45-year-old was using a chain saw at a homestead in the 7000 block of Sterling Road Monday afternoon when the accident happened.
According to the police report “at some point the tree truck rotated towards the man, knocked him down, and trapped him underneath causing a fatal injury.” Police say foul play is not suspected in the man’s death.
