MARENGO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man and a Detroit man are in the Calhoun County jail after they stole a vehicle and led multiple officers on a chase.
Jackson County officers were following the stolen car on westbound I-94 around 2:30 p.m. Saturday but lost contact.
Later, a Calhoun County deputy spotted the two men walking on Partello Road near 21 Mile Road in Marengo Township and caught the suspects when one of them attempted to run.
The vehicle was also found in a line of trees on Partello Road.
The Detroit man was arrested for a narcotics violation and for the possession of a stolen vehicle, while the Kalamazoo man was found violating parole and is facing carjacking and felony firearm charges.
The Kalamazoo suspect refused to identify himself at first, but jail officials later did through fingerprinting.
The suspects’ names have not been released.
