KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A couple of guns are off the streets after a tip led to the arrest of 2 Kalamazoo residents, including a juvenile, near the Stuart Neighborhood.
A citizen told Kalamazoo Public Safety officers that they saw a man with a gun near the intersection of Douglas and Summit Avenues just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers followed the man who entered a vehicle in the 100 block of Cadillac Street and pulled him over where they discovered two stolen handguns.
A 27-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and other felony firearm charges.
The older suspect was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail and the teen is in the Kalamazoo Juvenile Home.
Officers also thanked the witness and other community members that get involved and report situations that can sometimes be difficult to do so.
