KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Democrats are making it clear that healthcare will be a big issue in November, slamming Schuette’s plan that they’re calling, “Unhealthy Michigan.”
Two Kalamazoo area Democratic candidates were joined with Chairman Brandon Dillon in Kalamazoo on Thursday to discuss healthcare issues.
District 9 County Commission candidate Christine Morse says as a cancer survivor she’s worried about losing coverage for pre-existing health conditions.
She says families shouldn’t need to decide between getting medical help for a cancer patient or putting food on the table.
Oshtemo State House candidate Alberta Griffin added that healthcare is a human right that should not be taken away because of a law that’s passed.
The two were joined with Chairman Brandon Dillon as he kicked off a statewide tour bashing Schuette’s “Unhealthy Michigan” plan.
He says the GOP plan will dismantle the Healthy Michigan Plan that covers over 680,000 Michiganders.
