KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo carjacker could be facing a number of new charges after a police chase through several downtown neighborhoods.
A Public Safety detective spotted the stolen vehicle near Balch and South Park Streets just before 1 p.m. Tuesday and began a pursuit, but the suspect sped off.
The abandoned vehicle was found in the 900 block of West Lovell and as police searched they heard a woman yelling a block over on South Street.
They spotted the suspect leaving the home and eventually chased him down and booked him into the County Jail on several outstanding warrants.
The suspect’s name has not been released and more charges could be filed.
