WASHINGTON D.C.(WHTC-AM/FM) –An FDA committee is set to review an emergency request from Pfizer and BioNTech, filed on Nov. 20, 2020, to approve a COVID-19 vaccine.
If approved, Pfizer officials says they could be shipping the vaccine from the company’s Portage facility as soon as Friday, December 11, 2020.
The vaccine is aimed at “active immunization for the prevention of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 16 years of age and older,” according to FDA documents.
The proposed dosing regimen is 2 doses, given 21 days apart.
