KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two Kalamazoo suspects are in custody after a traffic stop turned into a drug bust and a gun felony in the Edison Neighborhood.
It happened just after noon Sunday when a Kalamazoo Public Safety officer pulled over a vehicle in the 1300 block of Clinton Street and smelled marijuana coming from the car.
A search turned up a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol under the seat of the 27-year-old driver and his 20-year-old passenger was caught with marijuana.
The suspects were booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail.
The driver is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and being a felon in possession of a gun and the passenger is being held on drug charges.
