Following his reelection defeat House Ag Committee Chair Collin Peterson says he’s offered to help Joe Biden establish his agriculture policy. Asked whether he’s contemplating a new role as Ag Secretary in the Biden administration the Minnesota Democrat responded he’s not looking for a full-time four-year job and that he’d back whoever he picks which appears now to be the case with Tom Vilsack. He assured reporters there are plenty of good candidates for the cabinet position in agriculture. In a press conference Peterson he touted a bill to make an additional 25 million acres available to CRP over the next five years replacing the current signup cap of 27 million acres on the program.
