BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek parole absconder is behind bars after two car chases and a foot chase by police.
Battle Creek Police first tried to pull the car over just before 2 a.m. Sunday near Goodale and Washington avenues, but they backed off rather than endanger the public, and contacted other police agencies about the direction he was headed
The suspect was spotted again speeding on Morgan Road and deputies tried to pull him over, but the driver didn’t stop.
Calhoun County Sheriff Deputies chased him around Emmett and Pennfield Township until he abandoned his vehicle on Jameson Avenue and tried to make a run for it.
The 48-year-old parole absconder was eventually caught and arrested.
On top of his parole violation he is now facing charges for fleeing, eluding, and resisting officers.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
