KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A large crowd turned out in Bronson Park to commemorate the 17th anniversary of 9-11 terrorist attacks and to salute the first responders who suit up, strap up and go to work every day in Kalamazoo to protect and serve.
Speakers recalled the anger and sheer terror of that day, and the feeling of helplessness.
The crowd heard from Congressman Fred Upton, who recalled his memories of being Washington, at a time when he and his family were staying near the Pentagon.
The crowd was supplemented this year by the homeless living in the tent city that has sprung up in Bronson Park.
