KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A felon is in custody after a what could have been a possible suicide attempt in Kalamazoo’s Edison neighborhood.
Public Safety officers were called to the 1900 block of Portage Street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a man waving a gun and pointing it at himself.
When they arrived the suspect went inside the home and refused to come out.
Officers surrounded the area and after about an hour and a half, the man surrendered and was taken into custody.
The 28-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and a conditional release violation.
