WAYNE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Sheriff deputies say alcohol and drugs may have been a factor in a fatal head on crash.
It happened just after 1:40 a.m. Friday in the 54,000 block of M-51 in Wayne Township.
Investigators say 42-year-old Marie Daisy of Hartford was in her Dodge van traveling northbound on M-51 when she smashed into a Mitsubishi car being driven by 35-year-old Cody Jenkins from Decayter traveling southbound.
Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene and Daisy was rushed to the hospital where her condition has not been released.
The exact cause of the crash has not been released and charges may be a result of the fatal crash.
An investigation is underway.
