PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Another online threat to a school in Kalamazoo County is being deemed not credible.
Portage Public Safety officers were made aware of a social media threat around 6:30 p.m. Sunday about a student bringing a firearm to Portage Central High School to confront another student.
Officers launched an investigation, contacted all the students involved, and determined that the threat was unsubstantiated.
Portage Central is open and classes are running like normal Monday morning.
This comes just a week after a Kalamazoo Central High School student also made a threat on Facebook about shooting up the school.
Although a search found no evidence that the threat would be carried through, the 18-year-old is still being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail, charged with a couple of 20 year felonies.
