KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is hiring.
KDPS announced that they will open another opportunity for anyone who would like to apply for work in the department next Wednesday, and it will remain open for about two weeks, until October 16th.
It requires a lot more than filling out an application and leaving a urine sample.
There is a written test, a background packet, a physical agility test and several interviews.
They wouldn’t actually hire anyone until next March and then it really gets intense.
Training would consist of a Police Academy if needed, training as a firefighter and to also serve as an emergency medical first responder.
The department will host an informal opportunity to meet with the recruiter to learn more about the position and the kind of individual they are looking for on Saturday.
It will be held at the Park Café Coffee Shop on West Walnut Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
