CHICAGO, IL (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions scored two touchdowns with under two-and-a-half minutes remaining to stun the Bears 34-30 in Chicago Sunday.
Adrian Peterson scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:37 left in regulation. Peterson finished with two rushing touchdowns. Matthew Stafford threw for 402 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as the Lions moved to 5-and-7.
Mitchell Trubisky threw for 267 yards and a touchdown but also made a crucial fumble late. David Montgomery rushed for two touchdowns as the Bears lost their sixth straight to fall to 5-and-7.
Elsewhere in the NFL North, Aaron Jones’ 77-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter iced the game for the Green bay Packers as they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 30-16 at Lambeau Field. Jones finished with 150 yards as Green Bay moved to 9-and-3.
Dan Bailey booted a 23-yard field goal with just 1:49 remaining in overtime to lift the Minnesota Vikings past the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 in Minneapolis. Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes including two in the third quarter as the Vikings rallied from a 16-6 deficit.
The Kansas City Chiefs got by the Denver Broncos 22-16 to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium. Patrick Mahomes’ 20-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce late in the third quarter proved to be the difference as Kansas City improved to 11-and-1.
There is a Monday Night Football doubleheader tonight. First, Washington plays the 11-and-0 Steelers in Pittsburgh.
That will be followed by the 49ers hosting the Bills in Arizona. The game was moved to Glendale due to recent COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County.
