TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s been a rainy fall so far, following a wetter than normal summer spring and winter and lakefront homeowners in Texas Township have been nervously watching lake levels advance on their homes for months.
Crooked Lake and Eagle lake have no natural outlets and nowhere for all the additional water to drain off.
Every rainfall brings more threat and destruction. They can run pumps but with nowhere to pump it to, they may be fighting a losing battle.
Some counties in west Michigan have already received their usual rainfall for October and it’s less than a week old, and with more rain in the forecast, and any solutions months or years away, the outlook is grim.
