CLARENCE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A high-speed crash into a utility pole near Duck Lake in the northeast corner of Calhoun County has cost a Springport woman her life.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies say the 37-year-old woman had been drinking prior to the wreck and had not buckled herself in.
At about 9:30 p.m. Sunday she lost control on R Drive North near 27-1/2 mile road, heading west, left the pavement and hit the power pole.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.
