KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo-based recycling company is expanding.
Mark Schupan says Schupan & Sons have been assisted by the City of Kalamazoo since the 1960’s when they got their first tax break to move out of an unheated garage into a better facility on Miller Road, where they have been located and grown ever since.
This week they won a half-million dollar grant from the state and a Brownfield Redevelopment grant from the city for another expansion.
They looked at their locations in Indiana and Ohio.
The metal recycling and plastics parts manufacturer plans to spend $10.1-million adding two additions onto their plant.
They will create 80 new jobs over the next three years.
