UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) — The plow trucks were out in full force Monday morning, but the school busses were not.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory beginning at midnight Sunday until 1 p.m. on Monday.
– CLOSINGS –
A majority of schools called a snow day including all Kalamazoo and Portage Public Schools.
Western Michigan University is on a 2-hour delay and both Kalamazoo College and KVCC are completely closed.

– DON’T CROWD THE PLOW –
Road crews are out and about tackling the slushy wet snow.
Manager of the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County Joanna Johnson says they will first focus on primary roads until the snow stops, and then begin plowing out the rest of the county.

– PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT THE MORNING –
With slick roads, school closings, power outages, and even a stalled train, it’s a wintry commute throughout Kalamazoo.
A train stalled blocking Alcott Street caused slow downs throughout the morning on top of the slick roads and wet snow.
In addition, Consumers Energy reported scattered power outages around Kalamazoo, Portage, and Battle Creek with just under 11,000 customers without power throughout the state.
