KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is warning residents about a phone scam.
The caller identifies themselves as Sergeant Brian Cake with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department and says there is an arrest warrant for the person who answered the phone.
The KDPS says they do not call people for an arrest warrant and do not ever request payment over the phone for a bond, as the scam caller asks for.
There is not a Sergeant Brian Cake with the county sheriff’s office, but Sergeant Cake does work for the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
