COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Another sanitary sewer back-up has prompted the Kalamazoo Department of Public Services and Health Officials to issue a warning to homeowners on Parcom Street in Comstock Township to stay away from the Kalamazoo River.
They say that includes pets and children until the area is assessed and remediated.
They say an overflowing sewer is once again the problem. They say anyone who may have already been contaminated should disinfect shoes and clothing and take a shower.
City Personnel responded at 4pm Saturday to reports of an overflow from a manhole at 241 Parcom Street.
It’s the second overflow in Kalamazoo this week. A similar inciident near the lakes in the Parkview Hills Subdivision prompted similar warnings on Thursday.
