WAYLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A car-deer accident in Allegan County has resulted in the death of a young woman from Hastings.
Central dispatch began getting calls about a car in a ditch on 135th Street near 7th avenue at 6 p.m. Monday evening.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office and Wayland Police both sent officers to the scene, where they found 27-year-old Kendra Ohler unresponsive.
A crash reconstruction team determined that the crash involved a deer, but the news release does not go into detail whether the deer itself caused the fatal injuries, or whether the driver swerved and hit something else.
They do say speed and alcohol were not factors.
