KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo long distance runner Julian Borst was given the Key to the City and showered with praise at last night’s City Commission meeting.
The 21-year-old Special Olympics Champion has been running since he was very young, continuing as a student at Loy Norrix, running long distance races and marathons, and this year he qualified for the next Boston Marathon.
Mayor Bobby Hopewell says they only bestow the key on those who have made kalamzoo proud and the nation proud of Kalamazoo
Borst thanked the commission for the honor.
He finished third in this year’s Kalamazoo Half-marathon.
