KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After struggling for the past six months with intermittent shutdowns and much lower traffic due to the coronavirus pandemic, it appears Small Business Saturday was a huge success for many locally owned Kalamazoo businesses.
Many stores offered special discounts this past Saturday to attract customers. Several stores in downtown Kalamazoo reported record sales.
According to the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership, for every $100 spent at a local business, $68 stays in the Kalamazoo community. The organization also says more than 75% of local downtown businesses offer online sales, with many working to beef up their websites for sales.
The website allevents.in says every Saturday in December in Kalamazoo is officially Small Business Saturday every Saturday to support small businesses.
