BOISE, IDAHO (WKZO AM/FM) — WMU did well in the first half, of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, leading BYU 10 to 7 at the half.
Unfortunately for the Broncos, there was a second half to the game, and the Cougars scorched WMU in the 3rd quarter, scoring 28-unanswered points.
The Broncos never recovered, losing the game 49 to 18.
Quarterback Zach Wilson set a BYU record and tied an NCAA Bowl record, passing 18 for 18, throwing for 317 yards and four touchdowns.
