BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is in custody after a robbery at a store in Battle Creek.
It occurred just after 8 a.m. Thursday at the Family Dollar in the 500-block of Capital Avenue S.W.
Battle Creek Police say the robber entered the store, brought an item to the cashier, and when they opened the drawer to cash out the suspect pointed a handgun at them, demanded cash, and fled on foot.
About 5 minutes later officers spotted the suspect and chased him down.
It was later determined that the gun was a BB-gun, and the 37-year-old man is now in jail on an armed robbery charge.
