FAWN RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two men are dead after their vehicle crashed into a lake near Sturgis Sunday morning.
Michigan State Police say the accident happened at 8:11 a.m. when a 30-year-old man from Pennsylvania travelling east on US-12 near Sweet Lake Road in Fawn River Township lost control and crossed all lanes of traffic. The vehicle rolled, crashing into a nearby body of water.
The driver and his passenger, a 28-year-old Georgia man, died at the scene. Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
