ATHENS (WKZO-AM) –Southwest Michigan has had more than its share of holiday traffic fatalities this year.
The latest has claimed the life of a Three Rivers man, who was killed Saturday morning when he lost control of his 2007 GMC Denali at an intersection in Calhoun County.
Michigan State Police say the accident happened at about 4:10 a.m. when 35-year-old Travis Nyman went off of South Capitol at Hawthorne near Athens and slammed into a tree.
Nyman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Athens Fire and Rescue and LifeCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The State Police are running tests to determine if they can determine what may have caused or contributed to the crash.
