KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 48-year-old from Vicksburg will probably never forget where he was when 2017 arrived, after he was being treated by paramedics for a gunshot wound to the foot.
Kalamazoo Public Safety learned about the shooting from a man who was walking a short distance from the hotel parking lot in the 1900 block of South Westnedge Avenue where the gunplay occurred at approximately 11:18 p.m.
The male victim also left the parking lot on foot and was tracked down by officers. He had only suffered a minor injury.
He was treated by EMTs at the scene and released.
Investigators followed up with the victim and witnesses. They say he was shot by a thin female in her 40s, who was accompanied by another female in her 20s with large “afro” hair style.
They do not have a suspect, but don’t think the woman acted randomly or poses a risk to the public.
