KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A group at Western Michigan University has released a 16-point list of qualities it wants to see out of the school’s ninth president.
The presidential search advisory committee says Western’s new president should be a leader, have good management skills and a record of accomplishment, and should also have a doctoral or comparable high-level degree, a successful academic career and a student-centered philosophy.
They also say the ideal president will have “an understanding of and appreciation for” the role of university athletics.
You can view the full list here.
The group is accepting applications and nominations for the position through the end of February.
Current President John Dunn is retiring later this year.
