OSHTEMO (WKZO-AM) — Some people just love fast food. A line formed outside the new Chick-fil-A in Kent County’s Gaines Township 24-hours before the opening.
They were offering the first 100 customer’s a year of free meals. The same chain will open a restaurant in Portage in late February.
On West Main in Oshtemo’s ‘burger block’ where the big chains are all within a snowball’s throw of each other, last night Wendy’s upped the ante.
They have just completed a renovation adding WI-Fi, more comfortable seating and what District Manager Vonetta Harris says is a dining area that’s more fun. One new feature called a “Free-Style Machine” which lets customers order up just about any flavor of pop they want, or mix and match their own…
Wendy’s of course has a Kalamazoo connection. Founder Dave Thomas grew up here.
Burger King next door has also made improvements to their facility as the fast food competition rages on.
