KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Sheriff’s deputies in Kalamazoo County are investigating after a woman’s body was found in a field in the 3000 block of West AB Avenue in Cooper Township.
Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said they know more than what they were saying about the case so they can pursue their leads before they evaporate. He said releasing information might jeopardize the investigation.
They are awaiting autopsy results to confirm the identity of the woman, suggesting the body may have been there for a while. They aren’t saying how the body was found, and whether there were any signs of trauma, only that they learned of it at about 9 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators also haven’t released any information about their person of interest, just that he is being held on unrelated charges for now. They are saying that the death is being treated as suspicious and they are awaiting an autopsy to be conducted by the local medical examiner.
Matyas is saying that people living in that area have no cause for alarm, they do not believe that they are at any risk at all.
