9LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The number of deer harvested in the 2024 firearm deer hunting season in Michigan was down slightly according to the state Department of Natural Resources.
The DNR says, however, that there more people hunting on opening day than last year, with the number of hunting licenses increasing by 1.4 percent. The number of deer taken opening day November 16 was nearly 42,000 and that was up four-percent from last year.
