KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Thursday morning commutes in Kalamazoo were slowed after a crash and tractor-trailer fire on U.S. 131.
It happened before 8 a.m. near Stadium Drive and forced a total shutdown of the freeway.
First responders from multiple agencies found a semitrailer engulfed in flames in the median and a car with severe rear-end damage. The tractor-trailer driver was out of the commercial vehicle at that time. The driver of the car reportedly had minor injuries.
The freeway opened up to northbound traffic again before 9 a.m. The scene was cleared after 10 a.m.
