LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Cases of whooping cough are increasing across Michigan.
Health officials are urging people to get vaccinated, as 66-percent of this year’s cases of whooping cough, also known as pertussis, have been in people who have not had a vaccine for it. There has been a national decline in whooping cough vaccines since the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of this week, there are more than 1,500 confirmed whooping cough cases in Michigan.
