CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A bridge just north of Athens will be closed for eight months starting on January 6, 2025.
The bridge on S Drive South over Pine Creek will be fully replaced. Detour routes will be posted via K Drive S.
Access to the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) Pine Creek Reservation will be open via 1 ½ Mile Rd to S Drive South or T Drive South.
The work will include the replacement of the bridge in its entirety. This project is fully funded through the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Tribal Transportation Program Grant, at an estimated cost of over $1-point-8 million.
The Calhoun County Road Department will oversee the project, with no costs incurred by the department.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow for extra travel time.
