KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today is Giving Tuesday, a globally recognized, social media-driven day of giving locally that debuted in 2012.
Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is encouraging Kalamazoo County residents to take part and give their resources and time to support their neighbors who are battling homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
Two anonymous couples have pledged $48,000 to KGM to match donations given today.
In 2023, over 600 people donated to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries on Giving Tuesday. This year, they are challenging more people to donate and says their donations will be doubled by the anonymous donations.
Opportunities to partner with KGM start with giving financially by making a secure #GivingTuesday contribution at www.kzoogospel.org.
People can also donate time through a variety of volunteer experiences – from mentoring a guest in the New Life | New Hope Program to serving food to hungry guests at breakfast or dinner. W
They are also accepting gently used clothing and household items at one of three locations: Simple Treasures Thrift Store, 185 Old Kilgore Road in Portage; Rescued Treasures Thrift Store, 524 North Burdick Street in Kalamazoo; or at KDC, 1010 North Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo.
