BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Contractors for the City of Battle Creek are scheduled to begin well drilling at the northern end of Bailey Park on Monday.
The work is part of the Verona Wellfield Well Replacement project with funds from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and a local revenue loan.
While there are no expected road closures during the well drilling work, residents may notice some modifications to traffic in the area and availability of facilities, due to flooding as well operations create tremendous amounts of service water.
The work is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, December 8.
Additional work will be done in the future to connect well lines to the existing well collection mains, along with electrical and mechanical work on the wells.
