KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -The Michigan Department of Transportation has set a public meeting later this week to discuss the draft noise report associated with the US-131/I-94 interchange and highway improvements in Kalamazoo County.
MDOT says the traffic noise study was conducted to assess the traffic noise environment associated with the proposed I-94/US-131 ramp improvement project, which includes rebuilding approximately 1.5 miles of northbound US-131 and widening the westbound I-94 ramp to northbound US-131.
The noise study analyzed the entire project area for noise impacts and potential noise mitigation.
The public meeting will be held Wednesday, November 20 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the MDOT Kalamazoo Transportation Service Center, 5372 South 9th Street.
The draft report and information on MDOT’s noise abatement program each are available on MDOT’s website.
