KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A group called the Michigan People’s Campaign says Fred Upton has shown them no love, ducking them for weeks.
It seems the St. Joseph Republican congressman, like many other national politicians, are using Facebook Live or Tele Town Halls to get input from the public. The elected officials want to avoid the kind of angry and uncontrolled crowd that Justin Amash dealt with earlier this month in Grand Rapids.
For weeks, the group has wanted to share their stories about how the Affordable Care Act has helped them, but they have been turned down each time. Upton said they have moved to tele-townhall meetings a number of years ago because it makes it possible to reach out to many people all over at once.
The group delivered heart shaped Valentine’s Day Cards to his office, each with a personal message about the ACA.
