KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Things will be changing a lot at the federal level after Tuesday’s election, but they will hardly change at all in Kalamazoo County.
The county board and the Kalamazoo Public Schools board will look the same next year as it did this year, with all incumbents returning. They were the largest local units on the ballot.
County commissioner Jen Strebs says the results of the national race resulted in a lot of local anxiety, but she says her local county meetings eased her concerns.
Republican commissioner John Gisler took advantage of the opportunity to rub it in.
County vice chair John Taylor says for all the attention the federal race gets, the most important things in our daily lives happen locally.
The races for county sheriff, prosecutor, treasurer, surveyor and clerk also all went to the incumbents.
