RICHLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan House Minority Leader Matt Hall of Richland is projected to win reelection in the 42nd District.
Hall was challenged by Democrat Austin Marsman after surviving a primary challenge in August.
He might become the next state House Speaker as the Republicans won control of the chamber.
Republicans won a seat in the 109th District in the Upper Peninsula with former meteorologist Karl Bohnak defeating Democratic incumbent Representative Jenn Hill of Marquette.
Two other Republicans, Ron Robinson and Rylee Linting, also defeated Democratic incumbents to give the GOP at least 57 seats in the state House in January.
