KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The World Series trophy won last fall by the Chicago Cubs will be in Kalamazoo on Monday for any fan who wants to visit, but there will be some rules just to protect the trophy and give everyone a shot at getting their photo taken with it.
Cubs spokesperson Mike Lufrano said Cubs fans should come prepared and be patient.
They will be handing out 500 wrist bands. Those who have the wrist bands will be guaranteed to see the trophy.
Lufrano said the trophy is not like the Stanley Cup. It’s delicate and could easily be bent or broken with rough handling, so no one is permitted to touch it.
The public showing will run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 this afternoon at the Cityscape Events Center on the Kalamazoo Mall.
