PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Republican U.S. Senate nominee Mike Rogers made a stop in Portage last night in the final sprint to next Tuesday’s election.
He met at local GOP headquarters last evening with a few dozen Republican loyalists.
His aim, like Democratic Party opponent Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin at this point, is to encourage party faithful to get out the vote of like-minded people who haven’t voted already.
He says they are sophisticated these days when it comes to knowing who their voters are, so they will be working the phones over the weekend.
Rogers, a former Congressman, has been out-raised and out-spent by his Democratic opponent, after moving back to White Lake Township in the Detroit suburbs from Florida last year, when current U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow announced she would not be running again.
