HOPE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The man who was shot and killed by Barry County Sheriff’s deputies has been identified by his family as Jeremiah Johnson.
He was an Army veteran who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Johnson was shot and killed Monday by deputies who were responding to a domestic situation involving a gun in the 7000 block of Kingsbury Road near M-43 in Hope Township.
The sheriff’s office has not said what led to the shooting or how many deputies are on paid administrative leave. Michigan State Police are investigating.
