BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A 29-year-old Paw Paw man is being held at the Calhoun County Jail after police say he was held at gunpoint in a homeowner’s basement during a home invasion gone awry.
It happened Friday morning. Officers were dispatched to the residence in the 12000 block of Sonoma Road at around 7 a.m.
Investigators say the man fled after at at least one round was fired.
The suspect was located later that morning crossing Beckley Road. He was taken into custody after attempting to flee, according to a press release from the Battle Creek Police Department.
No injuries were reported.
