DOWAGIAC (WKZO AM/FM) — A young Dowagiac man who was allegedly operating a drug house on Oak Street, has been accused of holding a man captive last weekend because of a dispute over money, and now faces over a dozen charges.
The 22-year-old victim told police that he was repeatedly threatened with a shotgun and a knife and assaulted several times. He was eventually allowed to leave, but was threatened with violence if he didn’t return with the disputed cash.
They picked up the 24-year-old suspect last night and he is expected to be arraigned this afternoon. A search of his home turned up the weapons the victim described, and marijuana and cocaine packaged for sale.
He is being held on multiple counts of felonious and armed assault, a variety of drug and gun charges, and for unlawful confinement.
