LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Three Michigan county clerks were among those who testified Thursday before the Joint House-Senate Oversight Committee‘s investigation into the presidential election.
State Representative Matt Hall (R-Marshall), who’s district covers portions of Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties, called the hearing because of what he called “numerous news reports of election irregularities across Michigan,” saying it “have raised questions about the functionality and transparency of our state’s election process.”
Kent County Clerk Lisa Posthumus Lyons, a Republican, was among those who testified, saying that elections in Kent County are secure, transparent and fair. She did say she disagreed with the Michigan Secretary of State Office’s decision to mail absentee applications to every registered voter this year.
Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy, a Republican, and Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum, a Democrat, also testified before the committee.
