DEARBORN (WKZO-AM) — AAA says Michiganders are paying a bit more at the pump.
The auto club said the average price for regular is up 12 cents to $2.42, which was the biggest increase seen nationwide.
“Over on the west side of the state, we’re looking at increases of 16 or 17 cents,” auto club spokesperson Gary Bubar said.
Bubar blames the hike in part on the transition to cleaner-burning and more-expensive summer blend fuel and refinery maintenance.
He also said OPEC production cuts are partially responsible for the average being 51 cents higher than pump prices from a year ago.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com said the average was $2.42 in Kalamazoo, $2.47 in Grand Rapids and $2.45 in Lansing.
