UNDATED (WKZO-AM/FM) — Consumers Energy says it’s wrapped up working to restore power to the last homes in west Michigan affected by last week’s wind storm and now asking that anyone who they might have missed give them a call.
It happens. Everyone assumes the neighbor called and Consumers has no report of the outage..
The utility now says that 350,000 customers were impacted at one time or another since Wednesday’s wind storm.
That doesn’t include thousands of Indiana Michigan Power customers and members of the cooperatives in southwest Michigan who were also blacked out. It also doesn’t include the 650,000 DTE customers who were in the dark in Eastern Michigan, where some of them may still be without power as the work week begins.
Just in west Michigan, over 9,000 lines were damaged and 1,300 power poles needed to be replaced.
